Navigating Texas Hill Country Terrain & Site Work

Building in Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country presents unique structural conditions. Dense limestone subsurfaces, slope stabilization requirements, and regional watershed regulations require careful site work before pouring foundations. When a client presents us with a project that involves ground up construction and even remodeling, this one aspect is paramount to the success of the project.

1. Limestone Excavation & Grading

Unlike standard dirt pads, Hill Country lots often require specialized hydraulic hammer excavation and precision engineered benching to establish level structural points. back filling and depending on which side of texas fault line determines if we are removing "bad" soil. in some parts of texas we can remove up to 2 or 3 feet to meet design requirements.

2. Water Management & Runoff Controls

Hillside grading must account for rapid flash-flow events typical of Central Texas, ensuring proper drainage and water flow control can require dirt work, infrastructure and even in some cases mitigation controls.

All this being said or written is the very beginning of considerations for projects but not all - We at Anthony Construction understand that your dream is important and this one step - typically the first - can be the most important.
